Haiti: Armed men storm hospital to take a patient in full operation for gunshot wounds

Redacción.- A group of armed men entered a hospital in the capital of the NGO Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, to kidnap a patient who was in the operating room in the middle of an operation for gunshot wounds. .

For the fact, the director of MSF programs in Haiti, Mahamad Bachard Iro, classifying it as an absolute lack of respect for human life in the midst of an escalation of violence.

He also reported that the group of assailants threatened to kill the employees of the center who were providing services at that time.

Around 128,000 people are internally displaced in Haiti due to gang attacks, extrajudicial killings, kidnappings, and gender-based violence currently taking place in that country.

Once the doors were open, some twenty hooded people entered and took the patient who had previously arrived with serious injuries.

In this sense, due to what happened, the hospital decided to suspend its activities for a while due to what happened after two individuals arrived at the center pretending to have an emergency, until evaluating the conditions for a possible reopening.
