343 Industries will continue to work on Halo projects despite the major job cuts. After the dramatic cuts in the positions that also affect the Halo developer, rumors circulated that the franchise would be developed by third-party studios in the future and that 343 Industries would instead turn to other work. But the developer gives the all-clear here and clarifies.
Everything stays the way it is
The studio will “further develop Halo now and in the future,” says studio manager Pierre Hintze, responding to the many rumors online. A statement on Twitter reads:
“Halo and Master Chief are here to stay. 343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and into the future, including epic stories, multiplayer and more of what makes Halo great.”
Although these rumors were not spread by any publication known to us, they were enough to prompt 343 Industries to issue a statement. But with that, the last speculations would now be out of the room and discussions about it are also obsolete.
