Halo Infinite is almost dead on Steam after losing 98% of its players

Remember when 343 Industries and Microsoft introduced Halo Infinite as a breakthrough hit, a necessary reinvention for the iconic shooter, and a rival to Call of Duty on Xbox? Less than two years later, the numbers speak for themselves and indicate the opposite.

After a promising start, Halo Infinite has experienced a rapid and noticeable decline in popularity.leaving players frustrated by the lack of significant updates and excuses from 343 Industries, the game’s developer.

With all the challenges the game has had to face, Halo Infinite fans on Steam have pretty much given up all hopesince the number of players has been reduced by 98% since its launch.

Halo Infinite is running out of players on Steam.

Halo Infinite launch numbers were promising, with a peak of 272,586 players. However, a reddit post revealed a drastic drop to just 5,732 players. At the time of writing this note, there are 5,593 players enjoying the game, according to SteamDB.

This means that there are more players active in titles like STAR WARS: The Old Republic and gate 2released over 10 years ago, that in the latest game in the Halo franchise, despite the fact that its multiplayer mode is free to download.

While Halo Infinite enjoys remarkable popularity on Xbox, the lack of official information on player numbers from Microsoft prevents us from having absolute certainty about its true scope.
