A series based on the books of the Harry Potter saga was confirmed, this Wednesday, by HBO Max, from the company Warner Bros.

“Max has commissioned the first television series to feature a Harry Potter script, a faithful adaptation of the iconic books,” reads the publication on HBO Max’s Instagram social network.

Earlier this month, Bloomberg had advanced that Warner Bros would be looking for an agreement to develop the project, which would need the acceptance of writer JK Rowling.

The expectation is that the series will consist of seven seasons – one for each book in the saga. However, there is still no information about the involvement of the British author, who has been involved in controversy and has been accused of making transphobic comments.

On social networks, the novelty is already exciting Harry Potter fans. “Thank you for this,” says one netizen, with another saying: “Finally! The movies were good, but the books were much better. I hope HBO can stay true to the books.”

The eight films in the universe imagined by JK Rowling generated global revenues of seven billion dollars, about 5.7 billion euros.
