Through a Facebook post, an American psychology professor recounted how he lost his job after giving his high school students a writing prompt for their own obituaries.
“Today was the last day of your life, write your obituary,” the post’s description reads.
The teacher, who identifies himself as Jeffrey Keene, 63, explained on Facebook that he wanted to link his course with an exercise aimed at preparing students for the possibility of an intrusion by an armed person at his high school.
The teacher at the school located on the outskirts of Orlando, Florida, says that he asked his students to write down their “impressions” related to this drill.
