An engineer came up with the idea of making a dual port iPhone. The smartphone is equipped with a Lightning port and a USB-C port. He can therefore recharge it while listening to music with wired headphones, which we have not been able to do since 2016.
The eagerly awaited iPhone 15 will be the first to adopt the USB-C standard and permanently ditch the lightning port. But why not have both ports at the same time? That’s probably the question this engineer asked himself before making a dual-port iPhone. It is therefore equipped a Lightning port and a USB-C port.
We have already seen iPhones whose Lightning port has been replaced by a USB-C port. One made by an engineering student even sold at auction for $86,001. It is nevertheless the first time that an engineer retains Lightning port to add USB-C alongside.

The USB-C port of the iPhone is indeed functional. The engineer uses it to plug the iPhone into a computer and even launch iTunes. The USB-C port can therefore ensure the transfer of files like the basic Lightning port.
This dual-ported iPhone has the advantage of being able to be charged while the user is listening to music with wired headphones or earphones. As noted by a user on Reddit“ you can use headphones and charge at the same time like in 2016 “. It obviously refers to iPhone 7 released in 2016. It was the first smartphone from the Apple brand to have abandoned the jack to connect headphones. Since then, iPhone users have to choose between charging their iPhone or listening to wired music, unless they have an adapter.
