The commissioner of the community of Horcasitas, of the Municipality of San Luis Acatlán, ordered the rural police to arrest and imprison the director of a news portal that broadcast on social networks a video of a nursery of the federal program Sembrando Vida in the one where there are no plantations.
This is Bertín Chino González, who in an interview said that he broadcast this video on his news portal Prensa del Sur. After the people saw the video, several rural police officers came to his home and told him that, by order of the municipal commissioner, Ángel Morales Agustín, he was detained.
“They put me in a van and locked me up in jail, and the commissioner with the people of the town is holding an assembly where the punishment that is going to be applied to me will be determined,” he said in a telephone interview.
“I hold the commissioner of this community responsible for what can happen to me and my family,” he said.
“The only thing I did was publicize what is happening in that nursery, just as I have publicized other nurseries of the Sembrando Vida program in the Montaña region, where there are no plantations either,” said Chino González.
For his part, the PT mayor of the Municipality of San Luis Acatlán confirmed the arrest of Chino González, but said that the prosecutor and a councilor are going to the Horcasitas community to talk with the commissioner and the inhabitants and convince them to leave him. on freedom.
Until 7:00 p.m. today, the director of the Prensa del Sur news portal was still locked up in a cell in the municipal jail.
