The suspect in the murder of Rose, 5, had already been indicted in a previous case. The mother of a little boy who says he was raped by the suspect in 2022 testifies for BFMTV.

Strong words. The mother of a young complainant testifies at the microphone of BFMTV of alleged acts of rape, violence and kidnapping that her son says he suffered in February 2022 from the 15-year-old teenager, indicted in the case of the death of little Rose, 5 years old, in the Vosges.

“He wanted to burn them,” she accuses at our microphone.

The mother filed a complaint in 2022 on behalf of her son. The 15-year-old suspect was indicted for rape of a minor in this case. The alleged facts concern two boys aged 10 and 11, according to the public prosecutor of Épinal.

Tied to a tree in a forest

“They were outside playing, like all children. (The suspect) called them, told them to come and show them something,” she said.

The two boys are thus drawn into a forest near Rambervillers, without knowing that they are falling into an ambush.

“He tied them with tape. (…) With his lighter, he wanted to light the leaves so that they would burn”, continues the mother.

The two boys are then assaulted by the suspect. But a young man observes the scene from afar and intervenes. “Another child (them) saved them, so they managed to escape,” she says. “(Without him), there might have been two more deaths,” she breathes.

A complaint lodged

Back home, the young boy tells the scene to his mother. She claims to have believed it immediately and to have “directly” warned the local gendarmerie.

“I filed a complaint and since then I have had no news,” she laments.

The mother of the family admits, however, not having sought to have either. “It broke my heart,” she explains.

A judicial investigation is opened and the teenager is indicted. He was placed in a closed educational center in February 2022 and received academic and psychiatric monitoring there. He remains there for one year, the maximum authorized period, and is then released.

Return of the suspect to Rambervillers

Last February, the young boy therefore returned to the family home in Rambervillers, where he was placed. A surprise for the mother of the young plaintiff.

“I was shocked, I saw him outside in Rambervillers riding his bike,” she recalls, ensuring that she had not been warned of her return to the city.

“The least we could do is let the families know (…) He was a child who was dangerous,” she said.

Indicted in the case of little Rose, the suspect was placed in pre-trial detention on Thursday. During his police custody, he “made use of his right to silence”, according to the prosecutor.
