In a traffic control carried out last night on national route 14, near the intersection with provincial route 5, the Police detained a 53-year-old man who was driving drunk and almost caused a road accident.

The operation was carried out by agents of the Oberá Northern Command division, who were alerted by several drivers that a Peugeot 306 was circulating in a zigzag fashion on the aforementioned artery. Moments later they observed the mentioned vehicle, and by means of signs they asked it to stop on one side.

However, the driver of said vehicle accelerated the march, endangering the physical integrity of the acting personnel, who finally intercepted and arrested him. Likewise, a breathalyzer test was performed, which yielded a positive result of 2.66 g/l.

Lastly, after drawing up the corresponding minutes, the detainee was housed in the 2nd Sectional Police Station of Regional Unit II, next to the mentioned vehicle.
