Culiacán, Sin.- The Governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, reported that health brigades from the state and the Army, as well as from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), will be deployed in Sindacatura de Jesús María, Culiacán, where residents denounced that they were besieged after the capture of Ovidio Guzmán López.

The decision was made on the instructions of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador after local reports that indicated that the residents were incommunicado, without electricity or water, and ambulances had not been allowed to enter to care for two minors and two adults injured during the shooting to stop to the “Mouse” at dawn on Thursday the 5th.

“I have established communication with the President @lopezobrador_, and he has instructed that jointly, @sinaloagobmx through its health and social assistance areas, as well as @SEDENAmx, provide care to the population of the community of Jesús María” , the Morenista Governor published on Twitter.

“It is because of them that at this moment, the @saludsinaloagob and @dif_sinaloa brigades are heading there. Likewise, today the @CFEmx crews will be repairing the supply network to restore the electric power service as soon as possible to the community (sic)”.

Sinaloan media indicated that the inhabitants of Jesús María were surrounded by the Army for about 40 hours. They accused that the soldiers did not allow them to enter or leave the town north of the state capital.

According to the Noroeste newspaper, starting at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, when work began to arrest Ovidio Guzmán, basic services were suspended.

In addition to the food shortage, medical attention was requested for four people who were not members of Los Chapitos. They are two adult men with arm and shoulder wounds, a young woman with a gunshot wound to the foot, and a 13-year-old boy who was shot in the abdomen by soldiers.
