Heartbreaking Testimony: Cuban father traveled alone with two of his children to Miami after the approval of the Parole of his wife and children was delayed

The US government promised that it will review some of the cases of families with some members not approved in the process of parole humanitarian

Norlys Mérida is one of many Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans and Haitians who have benefited from President Joe Biden’s humanitarian parole program that has allowed more than 130,000 people to travel legally to the United States.

But in his case, his wife and another of his children remained on the island waiting to be approved by the program.

The undersecretary of the Department of National Security, Blas Núñez Neto, explained to América Noticias that in order to avoid situations like this, all the beneficiary members of the same family must be sponsored by the same person, in such a way that the family nucleus is not divided. But even with everything done right, these kinds of problems persist.

The measure that the Joe Biden administration put into effect since last January contemplates processing 500 requests chronologically and another 500 randomly, to complete the 1,000 daily cases, and consequently reach 30,000 each month. But many are not happy with the way the cases are being approved.

According to official figures, there are a total of 29,000 Cubans approved, of which 28,000 had already traveled to settle in US territory.
