According to the Public Health Agency, 43 percent of all Swedes have sleep problems. One of them is comedian David Batra.

Both lack of sleep and the influence of alcohol lead to impaired attention and increase the risk of making mistakes in traffic, according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority.

Awake for 30 hours

In SVT’s “Sov gott” David Batra investigates how his driving is affected by too little sleep. He first gets to test drive a car on a maneuvering course after a good night’s sleep, and then after being awake for 30 hours straight.

– There is research that has shown that when you sleep 24 hours a day, you have the same driving ability as someone who has a blood alcohol level, says sleep researcher Christian Benedict.

The first two episodes of Sov gott can be seen on SVT1 at 20:00 on 20/4 and 27/4. The first episode is already on SVT Play.
