We’ve regularly reported on the sales and player numbers of Tango Gameworks’ title Hi-Fi Rush, indicating that the game has been a successful product for Microsoft and the Xbox team, but rumors late last week suggested that the game wasn’t considered a success internally .

That prompted Xbox team marketing boss Aaron Greenberg to set things straight, per Twitter, and he’s now stating that Hi-Fi Rush was a “huge success” for Tango, Xbox and Microsoft.

“Hi-Fi Rush was a break out hit for us and our players in all key measurements and expectations. We couldn’t be happier with what the team at Tango Gameworks delivered with this surprise release.”

As the game was partly included through Game Pass and partly released at the same time as it was announced, it’s difficult to determine the game’s actual sales figures (other than via Steam), but the millions who have already checked it out suggest that it’s done very well.
