– For just over a day, the water level has passed the level we saw in 2020. In less than a day, the level has risen by 14 centimeters and the water masses have therefore reached surfaces that were not affected three years ago, says Mathias Bergendahl, who is the CEO of the plant.

A large number of camping cabins have already started to take in water, the adventure golf course is half under water and several shops and eateries are now being prepared for flooding.

Accepting horses

At the same time, the theme park has begun receiving horses from nearby stables affected by the flooding, as High Chaparral’s stables, horse pens and bison enclosures are at a higher level than the rest of the park.

– If you want to see something positive, it is that this year we are one month ahead in time compared to 2020 when the flood started in mid-February. Lessons learned from that time together with a little more time give us slightly better conditions to complete the park for the season, says Mathias Bergendahl.
