The Office of the High Commissioner for Peace, headed by Danilo Rueda, spoke out against the alleged existence of an ELN plan to end the life of prosecutor Francisco Barbosa, a complaint made by the same Prosecutor’s Office.

“We reject any threat or plan to attempt the life of the Attorney General of the Nation”is the title of the statement in which it is explained that from the moment the situation regarding prosecutor Francisco Barbosa became known, the pertinent actions were carried out.
According to what they say, the ELN peace delegation was asked “an immediate and unequivocal pronouncement against the alleged responsibility of your organization in the denounced facts.”
Said pronouncement has already been given. On Wednesday morning, the delegation pointed out that the news is false and that it is a strategy to overshadow the peace process.

Likewise, the Office of the High Commissioner assured that it contacted the Mechanism for Monitoring and Verification of the Ceasefire so that they could assume the processing of the case.
