In less than a month, Warner Bros. launches Hogwarts Legacy, the long-awaited action role-playing game set in the Harry Potter universe. Now the developers talk about the final system requirements and explain how strong your gaming PC should really be.

Hogwarts Legacy has been number 1 on the German Steam charts for weeks, and the adventure at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will not be released until February 10, 2023 for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Windows PCs. For the latter, the finalized system requirements are now announced in advance, which demand a lot from the home gaming setup, especially with maximum details and a high 4K resolution.

Requirements for 720p / 1080p …
Hogwarts legacy… and 1440p / 4K resolution

Soft entry, high demands at 1440p and 4K

Leaving aside the minimum specifications for playing in 720p resolution at 30 FPS and low detail (see screenshots), your computer should at least have the graphics performance of an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti for smooth 1080p/60 FPS display at high details or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. Furthermore, 16 GB of RAM, Intel Core i7 or Ryzen 5 CPUs and 85 GB of SSD storage are recommended. If you increase the resolution and top the graphics settings from Hogwarts Legacy into the ultra range, at least a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or Radeon RX 6800 XT along with 32 GB RAM and processors comparable to the Core i7-10700K (3, 8 GHz) or Ryzen 7 5800X (3.8 GHz) must be installed. With Ultra HD displays (4K / 2160p), the demands on the graphics card increase to the level of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti or Radeon RX 7900 XT to wave the magic wand at 60 FPS.
