The takeover of the giant Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is a real suspense series. This time Google and Nvidia enter the dance.

Since the announcement of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, we have the right every week to a veritable flood of information. Between supporters but especially detractors, this blow of financial Trafalgar tenses many spirits. This time it is two tech giants, namely Google and Nvidia who are expressing serious concern. The first seems to want to literally go to war.

Google and Nvidia make a counterattack against Microsoft

So, as reported by the very serious newspaper Bloomberg, Google and Nvidia have reportedly been in contact with the Financial Trade Commission (the US trade body) about Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Both companies told the FTC that Microsoft would gain an unfair advantage in mobile, subscription, and cloud-based games if the acquisition goes through.

Worse, Google apparently made comments to categorically oppose the acquisition.. And as much to say that when you have such a powerful and important Tech giant against you, it’s necessarily a bad thing. For its part, Nvidia is visibly more measured, simply emphasizing that Microsoft’s advantage would be unfair, thus leaving it up to the FTC to do what it wants with this information.

It’s still interesting to note that in February 2021, it was the exact opposite that happened and Microsoft had made a real outcry to rebel against the takeover of ARM by Nvidia. Like what the wheel turns.

Heh, well, Microsoft raised the same concerns when Nvidia tried to acquire Arm (which fell through). It’s almost amusing to watch these tech giants fight against each other…

In any case, Google seems determined not to let Microsoft continue in its objective of acquiring Activision. It remains to be seen what will happen next.
