If you want to watch planes approaching for landing up close, the first thing that probably comes to mind is the airport Caribbean island of St. Maarten. But there is also a similarly located airport in Europe – namely on the Greek island of Skiathos.
The relative short runway is bordered by the sea at both ends and offers a spectacular spot to watch landings and take-offs. Last August, a holiday airline surprised with one extremely low landing approach.
Even then we had reported on a video showing the approach from a few meters away. Now we’ve stumbled across another clip showing the same landing approach at close range you can see.
And because that Plane spotting on Skiathos is quite popular and exciting videos are regularly created, here’s another one compilation of several plane landings and take-offs on the small Greek island.
