Tübingen’s mayor caused a stir with statements at a conference in Frankfurt. His lawyer canceled all support for him.

After the recent controversial statements made by Tübingen’s Mayor Boris Palmer, his lawyer Rezzo Schlauch has clearly turned his back on him. “Immediately after learning about the scandal for which Boris Palmer is responsible in Frankfurt, I gave up my personal and political loyalty and support as well as my legal representation,” said hose on Sunday.

Hose, who used to be politically active for the Greens himself, said: “No provocation, no matter how severe, no insults and insults, no matter how vile, of radical left-wing provocateurs justified establishing a historical parallel to the Jewish star as a symbol of the persecution of the Jews in Nazi Germany. There is nothing more to explain, defend or excuse.”

Palmer has been criticized several times for controversial statements. A party order process by the Greens ended with the compromise that he must give up his party membership by the end of this year. Palmer has always had Rezzo hose on his side. Hose legally represented Palmer in the party order process and also supported him in the election campaign in Tübingen.
