While Game of Thrones had dominated the space for series fans throughout its run from 2011 to 2019, it unfortunately ended up disappointing fans with a conclusion to catastrophic writing quality. So when HBO, the channel that broadcasts the series, announced that it would return in 2022 with a spin-off taking place a little less than 200 years before the events experienced by Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and the others, as much to say that the spectators were rather feverish.
However, it didn’t take long for House of the Dragon to establish itself as the series to follow when it was released. Less action-focused than Game of Thrones, season 1 offered a particularly gripping plot revolving around House Targaryen and the estate of King Viserys. And if we could blame a little slowness at the start of the spin-off series, the latter accelerated little by little until laying the foundations of what will be the terrible war known as the “Dance of the Dragons”. ”, which should start from the beginning of season 2.
Only, if season 1 ended in a particularly frustrating cliffhanger (the details of which we will not reveal to you so as not to spoil possible latecomers), everything suggests that season 2 should not arrive anytime soon. Indeed, if we already knew that production had not yet started, HBO has just unveiled an additional clue indicating that House of the Dragon should not point the tip of its nose all year 2023…
The slow of the dragons
It is by observing the new trailer for the series planned for 2023 unveiled by HBO a few days ago that we can come to this conclusion. Indeed, as you can see for yourself by watching the video above, the American channel has compiled videos of all the series expected for 2023 on their HBO Max platform, and House of the Dragon shines only by its absence.
Since the video begins with an explicit “Coming in 2023” (Coming in 2023 in French), everything suggests that House of the Dragon will not arrive on our TVs before the year 2024. Information ultimately rather consistent with the rest of HBO’s communication on the production of season 2 of the spin-off, which should only start in a few months.
Note, however, that if you’re worried about not knowing what to watch while waiting for this long year, the HBO Max video seems to announce a lot of promising projects, including the highly anticipated series adapted from The Last of Us, with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the main roles. As a reminder, the latter is scheduled for January 15, 2023 on HBO Max, and certainly on OCS or on Amazon Prime in France.
