CEO of Meta, the holding company that houses Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, Mark Zuckerberg is also an active person on the social network he created. The executive uses his own account on the platform as a space to announce personal achievements and news in Meta products.

It is common for brands and celebrities to have a Facebook page, created with exclusive features to publish on the platform and run ads. Mark Zuckerberg, on the other hand, still maintains the structure of a public profile on the social network: it is possible to see check-ins, events, work information and other details reserved for personal accounts.

The CEO of Meta cannot be added as a friend by other people, only followed, and accumulates 119 million followers there – when considering the pages of famous people, only Shakira and Cristiano Ronaldo are more popular on Facebook.

What does Mark Zuckerberg post on Facebook?

Mark Zuckerberg uses Facebook sporadically and divides publications between personal life news and announcements about Meta. It is common to find posts about the Chen Zuckerberg Initiative, a non-profit foundation created together with his wife, Priscilla Chen, as well as birthday messages and events for the birth of children.

The main content, however, involves the news of Meta’s products. Zuckerberg’s profile announces the arrival of new features for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, in addition to transcribing official company announcements.

In some of these publications, the founder of Facebook can put additional information in the comments, but it is rare to find a response to other profiles. Either way, it’s worth keeping an eye on the account if you want to find updates about apps.

Interestingly, it is not possible to send messages to Mark Zuckerberg on the social network. When trying to open a window in Messenger, the platform warns that the account cannot receive message requests from anyone.

Does Mark Zuckerberg use other social networks?

Zuckerberg also has an active Instagram profile, with more than five million followers. There, he takes the opportunity to bring content from social life and even makes exclusive publications about the network.

The Facebook founder also has an account on… Twitter. However, probably due to a conflict of interest, he has not posted on the social network since 2012.

And the other founders?

While Zuckerberg is still engaged at Facebook, the network’s other co-founders seem to have jumped ship. The most popular is the Brazilian Eduardo Saverin, with more than 1.5 million followers, but without publications since 2020.

The other members have static profiles with few followers. One of them, Chris Hughes, even published an editorial in the New York Times in 2019, when he asked for the separation of the WhatsApp and Instagram platform.
