New details from leaked documents from the US secret services become known every day. Now a document provides information about Putin’s state of health.
Rumors about the health of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin have been circulating for months. Now leaked US secret service documents give new clues. The editorial network Germany (RND) has a document that primarily deals with the disagreements in the Russian leadership. But one sentence makes you sit up and take notice.
According to the documents, Russian Chief of Staff Valeriy Gerasimov intended to end the war in Ukraine – and in search of a suitable date set March 5th. According to RND, the reason given in the paper was: “Putin is said to start another chemotherapy that day and will then not be able to influence the conduct of the war.”
Many reports of possible cancer
New details from leaked documents from the US secret services are becoming known every day. However, caution is also required: it is doubtful whether each of these documents actually came from the US secret services. In addition, fake or modified versions are in circulation.
This restriction also applies to the papers available to the RND. The editors interviewed experts who consider the papers to be authentic and largely unadulterated. So it could be another indication of Putin’s possible cancer. It was only in January that the Ukrainian secret service announced that Putin was seriously ill and would not live long. But the possible illness is only a side note in the documents. Above all, they show how divided the Russian leadership is. Because Gerasimov planned with the Secretary of the National Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, to move troops to the south and sabotage the war, as the RND reports. The aim was to “cancel the special operation”. In Russia, the war of aggression against Ukraine is called a special operation.
The papers, if their content is true, show how well connected the US intelligence services are in the Russian leadership. In addition, Gerasimov would probably have to reckon with personal consequences.
