It is possible to change the region of the Microsoft account from the settings of Windows itself or the Xbox console. The change mainly affects the Microsoft Store and eliminates the use of VPN to check the catalog from another country.
Microsoft recommends changing your region if you travel abroad or permanently move to another country. Many people resort to this option to access blocked content from the Microsoft Store: a game or movie available in the catalog in another country may be unavailable in Brazil, and vice versa.
How to Change Microsoft Account Region in Windows (10 & 11)
- Open Windows settings;
- Select “Time and Language”;
- Click on “Language and region”;
- Access the “Region” field;
- Choose the country or area you prefer.
If the Microsoft Store or Xbox apps are open, it is recommended to restart them to confirm the change.
How to change the Microsoft Store region through the browser
- Login apps.microsoft.com/store on your computer or cell phone;
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen until you find a globe icon;
- Click on the language;
- Choose a region.
How to change Xbox region (One, Series S and Series X)
- Press the Xbox button;
- Open the “Settings” menu;
- Select “System”;
- Click on “Language and localization”;
- Choose the new region and restart the console.
How to change Windows language
Changing the region does not affect the system language. To change this option, follow these steps:
- Open the settings;
- Select “Time and language”;
- Click on “Language and region”;
- Select “Add language”;
- Choose from the list options.
Regarding the language, Windows also allows you to configure foreign keyboards for Portuguese. In addition, you can change the system font view.
