The keyboard/mouse combo is not necessarily suitable for all games; some are much nicer with a controller. Connected to your computer, it will allow you to better control the controls which will necessarily improve your gaming experience. It is also possible to play with a PS4 controller on PC, by installing the DS4Windows driver. But what about the DualSense, Sony’s new controller that landed with the PS5? [Insérez ici un « ouf » de soulagement] Fortunately, the state-of-the-art controller can also work with Windows PCs. And thanks to Steam, you don’t even have to install an additional driver. Step by step explanation below:

Connect a DualSense to your PC via a USB cable

If your computer does not have a Bluetooth card (and you do not have a Bluetooth dongle), you can make do with a wired connection. To do this, take the USB cable supplied with the console to connect your controller to your computer. Note that if you purchased your controller separately, it will not be included in the box. You’ll then need to get your hands on a USB Type-C to Type-A cable.

Connect a DualSense to your PC via Bluetooth

To play in Bluetooth, check beforehand that your computer supports it. Then go to your PC’s Bluetooth settings (type “Bluetooth” in the search bar to quickly find the menu). Turn on your controller then press the Share and PS buttons at the same time. Once it starts flashing, the case is almost in the bag. Select “Wireless Controller” to pair. If prompted by Windows, then type the pairing code 0000.

Playing with your DualSense using Steam

The DualSense is compatible with the Steam platform. To take advantage of it, open the application then follow the following path: Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings. You will then be able to configure the buttons of your DualSense. The R2 and L2 triggers must however be confined to their role of analog controller unlike the touchpad which can be configured as a button. After saving the changes and naming your controller, go to the section Settings of the joystick (Controller Settings) and put a checkmark next to “Generic Gamepad Configuration Support” and “PlayStation Setup Support”.

Moreover, it is possible to play with a DualSense on titles outside the platform (uPlay, Epic Games Store, etc.). Just integrate them into your Steam library and you’re done. In the section Gamesselect ” Add a non-Steam game to my library » then add the targeted game.
