QR Codes have multiple attributions. If you often go out to restaurants, you have surely noticed that some establishments no longer offer physical menus. Instead, you must scan the QR Code to access the food list directly on your smartphone. These codes are also found in museums to obtain additional information on a work. It is also found in programs such as the series Moon Knight which contains hidden QR Codes.
QR Codes have multiple attributions. They are used to display text, access a website and multimedia content. They also offer the possibility of identification, of quickly connecting to a WiFI hotspot and of making payments. The QR Code is even set to replace the barcode in a few years. Important detail, malware can unfortunately slip in so well that they should not be scanned without knowing their source.
How to scan a QR Code on an Android smartphone?
Many manufacturers now include a QR Code reader directly in the camera. This is particularly the case of Oppo, Realme, OnePlus, Samsung or Xiaomi. Sometimes it will be necessary to activate the function in the camera settings.
- Open the camera.
- Aim the lens to the targeted QR Code.
- The QR Code will be identified automatically and all you have to do is click on notification which is displayed.
You can also use Google Lens to scan QR Codes. To do this :
- Go to Google Lens by clicking on the camera in the Google app.
- Frame the QR Code between the four brackets.
- The content will appear immediately and you just have to click on it.
On Huawei and Honor smartphones, you must use the application dedicated to scanning. Its icon has the shape of a QR Code or an eye. Note that there are several third-party applications to scan QR Codes such as QR Droid or QR Code Reader.

How to scan a QR Code on an iPhone?
- Open the camera.
- Orient your iPhone so that the QR Code is in your viewfinder.
- Click on the notification that appears to access the content.
