Jorge Rial’s personal doctor, Dr. Guillermo Capuya, spoke with C5N and told how the cardiac episode was that led to the driver’s hospitalization on Saturday afternoon in Colombia. He also explained how his state of health is evolving and what can be expected in the next few hours.
In dialogue with the Argentina live program (C5N, Sunday at 9 a.m.), Capuya revealed that he had been “talking to the doctors in Bogotá”, the city where the journalist is hospitalized, after suffering severe chest pain. during your holidays in that country.
In this sense, Rial’s doctor revealed how his hospitalization was step by step: “Yesterday (Saturday) at 3:40 p.m. I received a message from Jorge explaining that he had had an episode that led him to consult the clinic.”
During his account, the doctor took the opportunity to deny the statements of Ángel de Brito, who had expressed on his Twitter account that the Colombian health system was “precarious”: “The clinic is first-line, it has all the services, it is called Clinica del Country”.
In that communication, the father of Morena and Rocío explained what their situation was at the clinic: “He told me that he was going to have a catheterization to see how he was doing, let’s remember that he has a history of heart disease, so it was preventive.”
Regarding the studies prior to this episode that the driver from Argenzuela had done, the specialist revealed: “I was looking at the studies that we did on Jorge a few months ago and everything was fine from the coronary part, in the checkup that we did in November was all good.”
The driver will not be transferred until his health condition is “very good”
“During his hospitalization in the coronary unit, he had an episode of low blood pressure, they had to place a stent because there was an obstruction in some arteries and the problem was solved,” he continued recounting what happened at the clinic.
About the conditions of the city where he is hospitalized, the doctor made a caveat: “Jorge was sedated and I was worried, I was too. Let’s remember that Bogotá is 2,600 meters high, which is not a minor issue, we come from zero at sea level and we go there where the pressure is lower, where the available oxygen is also lower”.
“He’s still asleep, sedated, he’s going to wake up little by little,” he said about the state of health of the former nutritionist Romina Pereiro at this time.
“The head of intensive care gave me the results of the laboratories, the situation is slowly improving,” he explained to the journalist about the studies being carried out in Bogotá.

Regarding what can be expected for the next few days, Capuya announced: “We may travel so that he is not alone there and try to see when he wakes up how he will be to generate a transfer.” It should be noted that the driver’s daughters have already traveled to Colombia.
“He is not going to move today or tomorrow, let’s hope that he is in very good condition to be transferred without problems,” he clarified in reference to the time they calculate for the return of Jorge Rial to Argentina.
“Jorge had a check-up six months ago, I sent the studies to Colombia now and the truth is that the results were normal, everything was fine,” said the doctor about the state of health with which the driver left the country for his vacation.
When asked about the causes that could have triggered this episode, the specialist listed them: “I think there was a combo of situations, perhaps it was work, stress and altitude.”

“I was worried about that sudden drop in pressure that he had at one point, but he was in the right place and time, where the doctors were able to solve that problem and now the laboratories are improving, little by little he will wake up,” he said.
