Tim Walter has revealed his upcoming contract extension at Hamburger SV. “The status is good. I’ve always said that I really like being here. We are in good talks”, quotes the ‘Hamburger Morgenpost’ from the HSV coach. Walter further says: “Let’s see what the next few days bring. I think you can see that we have already made some progress here.” Afterwards, Walter drops what is probably the decisive sentence: “We want to continue on this path.”
As the ‘kicker’ recently reported, there is general agreement at Volkspark to extend the 47-year-old’s expiring contract early until 2024. Walter was last mentioned by the English media as a candidate for second division club Norwich City. The Canaries will have to look elsewhere for a new coach. Walter has been on the sidelines at HSV since summer 2021 and has an average of 1.87 points in 60 competitive games. The red trousers are currently in second place.
