The fall of mud and stones interrupted the traffic of vehicles in various streets and despite the fact that the authorities ask the population to avoid traveling these roads, many drivers and pedestrians ignore the warnings.

According to Mika TV, the mayor of Santa Eulalia, Luis Ñahuis, reported that there were four huaicos that fell this afternoon in San Jose de Valle Viejo.

Santa Eulalia is one of the 32 districts that make up the Huarochirí Province of Lima, which has also been affected by the rains of recent days.

In a the National Emergency Operations Center -(COEN) reported that there will be heavy rains in a good part of the national territory, including Lima.

For the latter case, it was indicated that the affected provinces would be Barranca, Cajatambo, Canta, Cañete, Huaral, huarochiriHuaura, Lima, Oyón and Yauyos.

The rains in these areas were classified with an “orange” danger level, that is, they would occur “Accumulated rainfall in 24 hours of strong intensity and can cause waterlogging and pluvial flooding”.

The COEN indicated that due to the heavy rains “this afternoon the activation of the Cuculí and Lucumaseca streams was recorded, which affected the highway and water and drainage service, in the district of Santa Eulalia, Huarochirí province (Lima).”

In He added that personnel from the district municipality mobilized to the area to assess the damage and coordinate response actions.

The mayor of Santa Eulalia requests that the Government declare a state of emergency. “We have been asking for a long time for Santa Eulalia to declare an emergency.
