Noussair Mazraoui continues to let his displeasure run free. The FC Bayern right-back complains in the ‘Bild’: “I fought my way into the top eleven in the first half of the season, showed what I can do and came back after my pericarditis.”
„Nun“continues Mazraoui, “It feels like, even if that’s a big word, I’ve been forgotten. Football is football, you are only as good as your last game. But that was a long time ago for me. That is hard.”
In the new year, Mazraoui only makes two substitutions, with 13 minutes to his credit. The 25-year-old dislikes this: “I have been completely fit for almost two months. But I haven’t gotten almost any minutes since then.”
“Nagelsmann knows me better”
Mazraoui clearly: “I’m disappointed, the situation is disappointing. I did a very good job in the first half of the season, and the World Cup went great too. After that I had bad luck, an inflammation of the heart. Since my return, I’m no longer the second or third option in my position – I’m the third or fourth.”
Benjamin Pavard, João Cancelo and Josip Stanisic are usually ahead of Mazraoui in the right-back hierarchy. “I don’t know why that happened. You have to ask the people in the club who have a higher position.”says the Moroccan.
The relationship with the new coach Thomas Tuchel is „gut“so Mazraoui, “She was that too with Julian Nagelsmann. But I might have gotten more chances with Julian, he knows me better. It’s harder for me under Tuchel.”
“Not what I deserve”
Tuchel, emphasizes the right foot, “I think he’s a good coach. He talks a lot with the players. (…) The coach and I talked about my perspective. But that’s something between us.”
Mazraoui has not yet given any specific thought to saying goodbye to Munich: “It’s still too early to talk about what’s going to happen in the summer. Sometimes football can go fast.”
The contract on Säbener Straße runs until 2026. Mazraoui, who only came from Amsterdam free of charge in the summer, makes it clear: “If the situation stays like this, that’s not what I want. And not what I deserved.”
