Released in 2002, Panic Room focuses on an event that disrupts the daily lives of Meg Altman (Jodie Foster) and her daughter Sarah (Kristen Stewart). While they have just moved to New York in a house equipped with a panic room – a room in the form of a strong room, intended to protect the inhabitants in the event of an attack – intruders interfere in the residence, in the middle of the night.

A rather coveted piece

When she sees the intruders, Meg wakes up her daughter and they run to take refuge in this famous room. However, the ex-owner had hidden his fortune in the panic room. This is where burglars want to enter. They use all sorts of schemes, each more dangerous than the next, to get Meg and Sarah out of the room. But in the face of their cruelty, Meg does not bend. The problem is that Sarah is diabetic and her meds are out of the room. How are they going to get out of this?

A hard-to-find star cast

Panic Room brings together a roster of stars and great actors in the making. It was the first film that made Kristen Stewart known, when she was only 12 years old. Rumor has it that Hayden Panettiere was originally tipped for the role of Sarah but eventually gave way to the future star of Twilight. As for the role of Meg, it was first entrusted to Nicole Kidman. However, the latter having injured herself on the set of red Mill, it lasted only 18 days of filming. All scenes had to be reshot once Jodie Foster was cast in her place. In this film, you will also see Forest Whitaker and Jared Leto in the roles of Burnham and Junior, two of the three malefactors.
