An artificial intelligence that predicts the future, and why not? I tried the experiment by asking an AI who would dominate the world in 100 years. The result: four images, each stranger than the next.
Who will rule most of the world in 100 years?
We are in 2023, and it is now normal to see artificial intelligence able to provide us with specific content based on a request made to them. But above all, these uses are now accessible to the general public. Here, I visited Midjourney, a site still in beta, but which already offers very interesting results.
The concept is simple: you fill in a request or a question, and the AI generates four images entirely created from scratch. “So I tried to ask him the following question: who will rule most of the world in 100 years?” Curious about what the future has to bring me, who knows, if artificial intelligence can predict the results of sporting events, why not go further. Without expecting to have a clear, precise and exact answer, I wanted to try the experiment.

We start right away on the wheel hats with a nice explosion. A real atomic mushroom that does not foresee anything very good for Humanity in the decades to come. This first result is probably related to the current conflict in Ukraine launched in March 2022. With tension rising in Europe and elsewhere, the fear of a nuclear attack is not too surprising.
Let’s go straight to the second picture, which is.. different, but not going to cheer you up compared to the first one. We can see a huge army of soldiers stretching to the horizon, and do not seem there to string pearls. We find here the fear that a new dictatorship will be established and once again dominate a large part of the world, as history has repeatedly counted.
An AI that mirrors the human being… on the Internet
If for the moment, the results are negative, it is hardly surprising. In effect, most artificial intelligences like this are based on content found on the Internet. In order to create new images, they must be based on other images, the latter must have a text description linked to them. In this way, the AI associates terms with visuals.
On the one hand, the behaviors and opinions posted on the Internet are more often negative than positive, and AI only relying on images with description can also skew the results a bit.
The third picture shows us our dear planet approached by a sort of triangle of light. Seeing this, I imagined the sun coming to destroy the Earth, or the leader of the Illuminati becoming god on Earth. In short, still as creepy.
Finally, the last image is the most abstract in my eyes. A globe is erected as a hero, leader or god, in front of a crowd of people, including a large one placed in the middle and from behind. All with a fiery background. If there is a meaning to be found in this creation, I would say that since humans are looking at the Earth, it means that they have found a way to go live on another planet. Indeed, interplanetary travel is a goal for many companies and an accomplishment for many achievable in 100 years.
