(…) Who approved this title?, “I can not believe”, “So Netflix released ‘Chupa’ and not a single Latin American was consulted for the title” or “Come on… ‘Chupa’? That’s a porn movie title.” Still others pointed to the fact that the director was Mexican himself, which is why it was impossible for him to miss the sexual connotation of his title: “Given the fact that (Jonas) Cuarón made it, the gaffe seems intentional, which makes it even more hilarious.”

A creature from Mexican popular culture
