The Israeli ambassador tendered her resignation, refusing to serve the most right-wing government in the country’s history.

PFor her, it is out of the question to represent them. After the arrival of the Netanyahu government, the Israeli ambassador to France preferred to leave her post.
She posted her resignation letter on her Twitter account. “Your policy, the statements of your government ministers and the intentions of legislation are contrary to my conscience, my worldview and the principles of the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel,” says Yael German. “In these conditions, I cannot lie to myself and continue to represent a different policy in such a radical way from everything in which I believe and that is why I present to you my resignation from my post as Ambassador of Israel to France. A historian by training, Yael German was active in the left-wing Meretz party as well as in the party of outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

Binyamin Netanyahu made his return to power through an alliance with far-right religious parties, marking the most right-wing coalition in the country’s history. The guidelines read: “The Jewish people have an exclusive and inalienable right to all parts of the Land of Israel. The government will encourage and develop the expansion of the Jewish presence in all parts of the Land of Israel – in the Galilee, the Negev, the Golan and in Judea and Samaria,” the name given to the occupied West Bank.
