Heavy rain and gusts of wind will affect the city

The City’s Office of Emergency Management issued a warning of hazardous road conditions due to severe weather, effective Wednesday and Thursday.

Heavy rain is forecast with additional accumulations of 2 to 3 inches.

The showers will be particularly intense during the afternoon and evening of this Wednesday, so the journey home could be complicated.

Additionally, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning in coastal areas for the same days mentioned, and an alert for strong winds, with gusts that at times could reach 60 miles per hour.

The MTA temporarily banned unoccupied heavy-duty trucks from passing through the city’s bridges.

New Yorkers are asked to use caution when walking, biking or driving.

They are also asked to secure any loose items on their properties and anticipate delays and disruptions.
