Violent Thursday afternoon: Four people die in separate shootings in Philadelphia

Two incidents of gun violence, which claimed lives and injured others in Philadelphia, occurred within hours of Thursday afternoon.

The first took place between 21st Street and West Aramingo Avenue at 12:29 pm where a 68-year-old woman lost her life after being shot in the left neck. She was transported to Temple University Hospital by private vehicle where she succumbed to sustained injuries.

Another 40-year-old man was also shot once in the jaw and was admitted to the same hospital in critical condition, while a third 37-year-old man sustained a shot to the left hand and was admitted in stable condition. .

All three arrived at the Temple Medical Center in the same private vehicle.

Then, at about 3:00 pm, three other people, including a teenager, were killed in a shooting in the 700 block of East Locust Avenue.

Both violent instances are under investigation. No weapons have been recovered or details of the suspect(s) have been disclosed.
