Despite the divorce, Cathy and Mats Hummels still seem to be on friendly terms. Now the presenter even saved her ex-husband’s wedding suit.
Munich – Even if their marriage is over, Cathy (35) and Mats Hummels (34) try to remain a team for their son Ludwig (5). As the moderator now told in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper, she even saved her ex-husband’s wedding suit from being disposed of: “I took it out of the trash can. I couldn’t accept that,” said Hummels. “We’re divorced, but I can’t bring myself to do that.”

The football star had planned to throw away the champagne-colored suit. But for Cathy Hummels it is not just a simple piece of clothing: “This suit is something special. A memory that you don’t just throw away,” she says.
In addition, the presenter jokes that her ex-husband “probably missed that nowadays people rely heavily on sustainability through second-hand or circular fashion”. And so she doesn’t just want to let the custom-made piece gather dust in the closet at home. “I want to do something good,” says Hummels, explaining that she put the suit up for auction online.

As can be seen from the auction website, it is a one-off production by Boss. The size XL suit was only worn once – on June 15, 2015, the Hummels’ wedding anniversary. “Red wine stains from the party” can still be seen on the right sleeve, and the inside of the suit jacket is embroidered with the names “Cathy” and “Mats” and the wedding date.
As of December 2022, Cathy and Mats Hummels are officially divorced. But nobody can take away the beautiful memories of her vows from the 35-year-old: “It was a happy evening.
