Over the years, Carol has dabbled in many things, from co-hosting Countdown to appearing on I’m A Celebrity Jungle in 2016.

Carol, 62, also took part in the second series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004, but was the second celebrity to be eliminated.

Along with showing off her incredible intellect, Carol is also proud of her famous curves and won Rear of the Year in 2011 and 2014.

While some kids of famous parents might be embarrassed by this sort of thing, Carol insists her offspring were never mortified by any of her antics.

Speaking ahead of her appearance on Taskmaster’s New Year’s Eve treat, she said: ‘They never backed down once, my children. They never went through this stage.

” It’s really funny. They think everything is hilarious. I’ll talk to other people who’ll say ‘Oh, my daughter is so embarrassed for me’ and I’ll think ‘I’ve done a million things that could have embarrassed my kids, but they’re just not like that’. ”

Carol will take part in the unique Taskmaster special alongside Sir Mo Farah, Greg James, Amelia Dimoldenberg and Rebecca Lucy Taylor, aka Self Esteem, while Greg Davies and Alex Horne will once again chair the tasks.

Carol said: “I love the show. It’s really smart and really stupid all at the same time.

“It’s just very British. It’s just fun, getting really competitive on really stupid stuff. I love it, it’s very funny.”

When asked if she learned anything about herself on the show, she replied, “Yeah, how competitive I am. I knew it anyway.

“And that I like to play silly games.” Things that I think I can do well on are very competitive, but other things that I know I will suck at.
