“I think I should let him fly so he can rest in peace, he won’t want to see me crying all the time,” were the words of Graciela, Fernando Báez Sosa’s mother, after the life sentence for Máximo Thomsen, Ciro and Luciano Pertossi , Enzo Comelli and Matías Benicelli for the doubly aggravated murder of Fernando by premeditation and treachery. It should be remembered that Blas Cinalli, Ayrton Viollaz and Lucas Pertossi received a sentence of 15 years in prison.
After hearing the sentence, Fernando’s mother said that she felt “a light, she saw him very smiling. So I think I should let him fly so he can rest in peace, he won’t want to see me crying all the time.”
In this sense, he expressed: “I have always been a religious person, but since Fernando’s death I clung to God much more. I felt that this gave me relief in my heart. I gave my suffering to Jesus to accompany me on this difficult path and I know that he was there. I also felt that Fernando from beyond helps me to be strong and to cope with this pain”.
And moved, she added “Fer will never come back. She sometimes caressed her bed, washed her clothes and put her back in her place. In the cemetery, I touch the marble and cry, I want to take it out and bring it with me for a little while”.
On the other hand, when Máximo Thomsen fainted in the middle of the hearing and his mother blamed the media for what was happening, Graciela replied: “The press cannot be blamed. The images we saw speak for themselves” and Along these lines, he added: “What he said is part of a strategy. I didn’t see them sorry, it was all staged when they apologized. I always remember the way he kicked him and my son’s blood on his shoe. He didn’t move me at all.”
In addition, he explained that he usually watches the videos his son recorded to hear his voice and keep him more present.
“A son was taken from me who just wanted to go have fun. As a mother, she was waiting for him at home. My son came back in a closed drawer from which he will never come out again. His absence is perpetual and our pain, too ”, he expressed.
“After so much waiting, I felt peace in my heart and calm when I heard the perpetual sentence. A very important story in the history of Argentina is born. We are satisfied, it is what I waited to hear for three years. A new stage in our life begins. We are going to continue fighting so that the sentence of these murderers is signed,” he said.
In this sense, he maintained: “I saw a boy on the ground who begged for mercy. There were 8 against a defenseless man who went to attack in the worst way. They had it ready. In my mind, what I keep the most is how my son was murdered. They enjoyed killing him, they knew what they were doing, ”he concluded.

Silvino, Fernando’s father: “We got what we were looking for”
Fernando’s father assured that they are satisfied with the ruling and expressed: “We got what we were looking for, which was justice. Today we have a little peace.”
“We are going to keep Fernando present at all times,” he said and said that he usually listens to the audios that his son sent him: “I do it to find a point to hold on and continue.”
He also said that Fernando’s case set a precedent in justice and stated: “We have fought so that his murder does not go unpunished and today we achieved something. I think we accomplished something very important.”
On the other hand, he detailed how they lived through the days of the trial: “I couldn’t sleep. We have seen several videos that were very harsh. The second hearing was not good, but I try to get well to accompany Graciela ”.
In relation to the bond they have with the lawyers, he remarked: “They are my family, they show it every day. I share many things with them because I know they work hard on the case.”
