I pinch myself to know I'm not dreaming

The great creative and musical production work that would lead to the renovation of one of the classic attractions of the Magic Kingdom in Orlando had been announced for months. The new show Country Bear Musical Jamboree offers not only some of the most emblematic songs from Disney movies, but also top-notch musical and interpretive quality to transform each song into an authentic country music hit. In fact, the recordings were made in different sessions in Nashville, Tennessee and included young country stars such as Emily Ann Roberts.

The young star was in the city of theme parks to enjoy, like us, the opening of Country Bear Musical Jamboree which opened to the public on July 17.

“This is my first time working for Disney and it’s a dream come true. The experience has been wonderful,” said Roberts, who took her first steps into the world of international entertainment by participating in the ninth season of The Voice, where she finished runner-up under the guidance of coach Blake Shelton.

“I’ve always loved music, and I’ve been in the country music scene for nine years, but I never imagined being a part of something like this, especially since it’s such an iconic and legendary attraction. It’s such an honor. I’ve been pinching myself all day to know that this is really happening to me,” said Roberts with great emotion and delighted with the result.

These indoor attractions are a kind of oasis on these summer days, as the air-conditioned break is appreciated. However, Grizzly Hall is much more than a nice place to rest, as the atmosphere here becomes enveloping from the moment you walk through the door and discover a hall with memorabilia that tells the musical success of the characters who are part of this show.

Sheet music, costumes, glasses, magazines, letters, and even the microphones used by the stars of the show are part of this prelude. Once in the theater, we can appreciate nostalgic details that always give rise to the show that features emblematic characters such as Trixie -whose voice is Emily Ann Roberts-, and the master of ceremonies, Henry, as well as others that have been renewed, such as Liver Lips McGrowl, who now sports a new stage name, Romeo, and a very surprising Elvis-style look.

As for the songs, without exaggeration, one after the other is worthy of applause, singing and enjoying because they are very well known and the different country genres in which they are reinterpreted invite fun. Among them “Try Everything” from Zootopia, which was performed by Shakira for the film, while in the attraction we heard it by Emily Ann Roberts; “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book; Kiss The Girl, de The little Mermaidand “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” by Mary Poppins.

This show is now open to the public and is part of the new features that Magic Kingdom is offering this summer.
