SV Werder follows up on the winter transfer market. Bremen have brought Maximilian Philipp on board from VfL Wolfsburg. Subject to the medical check, the attacker is drawn to the Weser.
There Philipp signed a loan contract until the end of the season. The 28-year-old is still tied to Wolfsburg until 2025. The Bremen-based company is silent about a possible purchase option.
Philipp was not asked at all under Niko Kovac. The former Dortmunder has only made three appearances this season. In Bremen, the dynamic right foot should further stimulate the offensive. Philipp can be used on the flanks as well as in the front line or behind the tips.
Refusal to Hertha
The 28-year-old was also a candidate for Hertha BSC. The Berliners would have liked to bring Philipp back to his hometown, but now apparently got a refusal.
Update (11:14 am): Shortly after the Philipp agreement, Werder now announced that Oliver Burke (25) is going on loan to another club.
