The president commissioner of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI), white lilia ibarra maintained that “INAI is on its feet, remains vigorous with the agenda of the Protection of personal data and the culture of transparency”.

Ibarra Cadena pointed out that they are waiting for the Senate of the Republic conclude the process of the remaining appointments to complete the Plenary Session of the transparency body. However, he stressed that “the Institute does not stop”.

In this sense, through her Twitter account, the president commissioner denounced that this Wednesday the INAI Plenary will not be able to meet due to lack of legal quorum to do so. In the same way, she highlighted the importance of public sessions where an average of 500 means of challenging citizenship are resolved.



At the presentation of the Support Guide for the preparation of the Safety Documentthe commissioner Josefina Romanfrom the INAI Commission for Regulations and Protection of Personal Data, said that it is a tool to sensitize public servants that cybersecurity incidents cause negative impacts on data holders and, in addition, affect the trust of institutions who manage databases.

Recognizing that cybersecurity represents great challenges at a global level, Román Vergara pointed out the need to join cross-cutting efforts to establish a monitoring and analysis mechanism on the subject.

The Support Guide for the elaboration of the Security Document It is an orientative text, that is to say that its main function is to serve as an example. This establishes a general framework of measures and actions that can be carried out to comply with the General Law on Protection of Personal Data in Possession of Obligated Subjects and the General Guidelines for the Protection of Personal Data for the Public Sector.

Likewise, it points out that the implementation of the Security Document is the task of each administrative unit with the support of the Transparency Unit as the main advisor on the protection of personal data.

Thus, each Security Document must include an inventory of personal data protection treatments; functions and obligations of people who work with this information; risk analysis, work plans, monitoring and review mechanisms; as well as the creation or updating of the training program for public servants regarding the protection of personal data.
