After last Friday’s meeting of the Provincial Ombudsman, Jorge Henn con neighbors affected by excessive billing of the last two-month period of the Provincial Energy Company, released the letter that was presented to its director, Mauricio Caussi.

The Ombudsman’s Office of the Province of Santa Fe, has arranged to address this letter to you, within the framework of the powers conferred by Law 10,396, for the purpose of reiterating the presentation made in a timely manner according to Official Letter No. 33664 attached.
We take this opportunity to send a copy of note prepared by residents of the city of Reconquistain which they emphasize the need to provide a prompt solution to the problems of users who have been harmed by apparent errors in the billing of the service.
Affirm that a pre-estimate of the consumption of the Bimester 01/2023 was produced, which translated into an overbilling in some cases of 400% in the Bimester 02/2023. Therefore, they require that the Provincial Energy Company proceed to cancel the invoices issued under these conditions and issue new billing according to the real consumption of the users and with the prices according to the period 1/2023.
They point out, in turn, that The EPE fails to comply with consumer defense regulations when carrying out abusive practices, issuing invoices with excessively high amounts knowing the maneuvers of pre-estimating consumption to the detriment of consumers and also, faced with the claim of users, it does not provide the dignified or equitable treatment that the law establishes by making available consumers in vexatious situations; intimidating and embarrassing, standing in endless queues to make claims.
Faced with the situation raised, this Ombudsman reiterates the requirement, requesting that as soon as possible the pertinent verifications are carried out and the report is submitted to this institution, detailing the causes that generated this problem and the actions that could be taken in order to achieve an efficient solution.
