Guayaquil (Ecuador), May 14. Independiente del Valle thrashed Guayaquil City 4-0 and took five points ahead of Barcelona and Aucas who were left with 20 points each, for the tenth date of the first phase in Ecuador.
Jordy Alcívar, the American-Argentine-Ecuadorian Michael Hoyos, the Argentine Cristian Pellerano and the Bolivian Marcelo Moreno Martins made the win, to award him 25 points with five dates to go before the first phase of the tournament concludes.
Barcelona’s 2-2 draw against Libertad was a punishment for the team led by Argentine coach Fabián Bustos, as they led 0-2 at the end of the first half and, around minute 51, Libertad was left with one less player for the expulsion of its captain Pedro Larrea.
After Larrea was sent off and with a two-goal advantage, Barcelona slowed down and Libertad only had 30 minutes to match the result, with two violent shots from the Colombian Felipe Ávila, who came on at minute 56, replacing the Argentine Sergio Sosa.
While Barcelona was second with 20 points, Libertad made 8 points and remained among the last in the tournament.
Last year’s champion, Aucas, won Gualaceo 1-0 with a goal from Kavier Ortiz, in a discreet performance, against a Gualaceo who wasted several clear scoring chances.
The victory allowed the popular Aucas to accumulate 20 points, the same as those of Barcelona, but with a smaller goal difference from the Barcelona team.
For its part, El Nacional ignited a slight chance to win the phase and extinguished Orense’s defeating it 3-1, so that both were left with 18 units with five dates to go before the end of the first half of the Ecuadorian tournament.
Byron Palacios, on two occasions, and El Nacional’s top scorer, Ronnie Carrillo, with 7 goals, converted the three goals, while Adolfo Muñoz entered the substitution and scored Orense’s discount.
Deportivo Cuenca welcomed its new coach, the Argentine Carlos Ischia, with a 3-0 win over Mushuc Runa, in evidence of a recovery from the football crisis for which the Argentine coach, Gabriel Del Valle, also left the team.
The team from Cuenca escaped from the last places, adding 12 points, thanks to goals from Esteban Dávila, Diego Ávila and the Argentine Enzo López, and Mushuc Runa moved to last place in the standings, with 8 units, but with fewer 11 goal difference.
Emelec, who experienced the recovery of three of its figures, after severe injuries to Miller Bolaños, Bryan Angulo and the Venezuelan Samuel Sosa, drew 1-1 against Liga de Quito, despite playing the entire second half with one less for the deportation of Sosa
Bolaños converted the goal for Emelec and the Argentine Lisandro Alzugaray, the one for Liga de Quito.
Delfín and Universidad Católica tied 0-0, so the cetacean was left with 15 units and Católica with 11.
The tenth date will conclude tomorrow, Monday, with the match between Técnico Universitario and Cumbayá. EFE
