Last Wednesday, six people were injured following a stabbing at the Gare du Nord in Paris. The assailant was very quickly neutralized by elements of the border police at the same station, including one who was also injured.
Following his arrest, the author of this attack was transferred to the hospital to treat his injuries, in particular to the level of the arm and the thorax, his vital prognosis being then engaged. According to TF1, which quotes the Paris prosecutor’s office, the alleged attacker could have been placed in custody.
An investigation, for attempted assassination, was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office and was entrusted to the criminal brigade of the judicial police. Regarding the murder weapon, the French Minister of the Interior spoke of a dangerous weapon, but not of a knife. According to TF1, which cites police sources, the attacker presumes to have used a metal hook.

As the investigation progresses, the profile of this assailant begins to take shape. The first sources that spoke of the latter indicated the Algerian origin of this aggressor. However, according to the statements of the Paris prosecutor’s office, this hypothesis remains to be confirmed.
