Washington, May 10 (EFE).- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will carry out a state visit to the United States in June, which will aim to strengthen the “shared commitment” to a “free, open, prosperous and secure,” the White House confirmed on Wednesday.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will receive the Indian Prime Minister for a visit that will include a state dinner to be held on June 22.

“The upcoming visit will affirm the deep and close partnership between the United States and India and the warm ties of family and friendship that unite Americans and Indians,” the White House said in a statement signed by one of its spokespersons, Karine Jean Pierre.

The visit seeks to strengthen the “shared determination” to increase the strategic technology partnership on issues such as defense, clean energy and space.

“The leaders will discuss ways to further expand our educational exchanges and people-to-people ties, as well as our work together to address common challenges from climate change to workforce development and health security,” Jean-Pierre said. .
