At the age of 74, the former singer of Patricio Rey and his Redonditos de Ricota, Carlos “El Indio” Solari, officially announced his farewell to the stage. The singer made the decision due to the disease he suffers from and starred in an emotional interview, as a farewell.
“Unfortunately for me, for my taste, Parkinson’s is progressing. But hey, it is what it is and you have to fight it,” Solari said in a radio interview with the Spanish host Mariscal Romero.
When asked if he would play again, as he has done for the last 40 years, Solari ruled it out. “At this moment the door is ajar, because my illness is not allowing me to be in my best version. And it seems to me that I no longer want to show up because of this illness that I have… I don’t want to be an artist who is fighting there on stage. El Indio has served his time,” he said.
“I have already decided this for a long time,” added the former leader of Los Redondos and El Indio Solari and the Air Conditioning Fundamentalists. “When I deliver, I give the band and the mark to The fundamentalists because they behaved towards me with great enthusiasm and emotion during the 15 years we were together, I had known for a long time that when the matter of being old, young, young artist came to me, I did not want the Indian to be up there.
