Mexico City.- The INE installed its commission to design the 2024 budget, with the promise that there will be austerity, but it will not neglect the organization of the largest election in history.
In the installation of the group of advisors that will analyze the project, which should be ready on August 14, the person in charge of the Administration office, Ignacio Ruelas, participated for the first time.
“That it be a document suitable for austerity by way of rationality,” said the recently released official, who until yesterday served as executive member of the Local Board of Aguascalientes.
During the meeting, the president of that internal body, Carla Humphrey, asked to use the 2018 budget with current prices as a basis.
The representative of Morena, Eurípides Flores, insisted that the Commission analyze the budget from scratch, in order to really reduce costs, not inertially as happens annually.
However, Ruelas affirmed that they could not guarantee it, he recalled that the last time this was done was in 2015, in addition to the fact that there were experiences in the Government that had not been successful.
While the comptroller assured that given the amount of information that they will have to analyze in two months, his staff of almost 150 employees was at the disposal of the commission.
According to the calendar, between May 15 and 19 the meetings with the local boards will be held, which will be held for the first time, and between June and July the directorates will present their proposals, so that the commission approves it on August 14 and the General Council on the 18th.
