Inflation in Cuba 'heralds another cursed year for the purchasing power of salaries and pensions'

The depreciation of the Cuban peso on the island against the dollar and other currencies does not seem to have an end. Cubans have once again seen that the dollar exceeds 207 Cuban pesos and nothing good is on the horizon.

Cuba It is today one of the Latin American countries facing higher inflation, just the opposite of what the rulers promised when they implemented a package of measures to adjust the economy known as Task Ordering.

For the experts, the State makes up the figures and the situation is much worse than what the authorities admit.

The increase in the price of food and an increasingly thriving informal market make pensions and salaries disappear, many of which are among the lowest in Latin America.

In many countries the depreciation of the currency is seen as something good for the economy because it favors exports, but the Cuban case is very different.

The solution to this serious problem is far from the state measures that have been seen so far.
