Robert Kirkman, the creator of Invinciblehas recently released some statements on the future of the franchise and how fans may see some upcoming episodes containing original stories not seen in the comic.

During an exclusive interview with CBR, according to what is reportedthe creative minds behind Invincible discussed the future of the franchise, analyzing the time arcs as well as possible original stories to bring to the show.
In an exclusive interview with CBR, Invincible comic book writer Robert Kirkman sat down with series artists Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series’ launch on January 22, 2003. During the interview, the three were asked about the animated adaptation of the series and whether any stories not made in the comics will have new life in the show. Additionally, they discussed whether the show made any changes from what they would have wanted for the comics. Here are Robert Kirkman’s words:
There are some stories that I’ve mentioned in the past, that I’ve planned, that I haven’t been able to put into the comics. I don’t want to spoil things, but it’s possible that there will be episodes in the future that are entirely original to the show, and written by me.
Furthermore, the animated series still has some differences from the comics, such as some changes in the chronology of events, or the changes made to the characters. Robert Kirkman, along with artists Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker, talked about some of the changes they found funny or otherwise interesting.
“Debbie [Grayson] she’s proving to be a much stronger character on the show,” Kirkman said of Invincible’s mother, voiced by actor Sandra Oh. “We are having a lot of fun with her.”
