Friday, February 24th, 2023: At 11 a.m. in the Abbey of Mehrerau, Bregenz and at 6 p.m. in the State Memorial Chapel in Rankweil.

It was a slaughter, not a battle. Friedrich von Schiller’s word expresses what the Ukrainians and many Russians have been experiencing in all cruelty over the past year: a slaughter of human life.
Since the beginning of the war we have been praying for peace at all masses in the basilica in Rankweil, and every Wednesday at 8.45 a.m. there is a Stations of the Cross prayer for peace in the Ukraine.

  • On the anniversary of the beginning of the war, in the face of the human tragedy that is becoming increasingly unbearable, we invite another prayer for peace: Friday, February 24, 6 p.m., in the State Memorial Chapel on the Liebfrauenberg.

  • Abbot Vinzenz Wohlwend OCist already meet in the morning. and Bishop Benno Elbs with the school community of the Gymnasium der Mehrerau for a prayer for peace:
  • 24 February, 11 a.m., Mehrerau Abbey, Bregenz.

Everyone is invited.

Anyone who turns to God in this situation shows solidarity with the people who are suffering from the war and who experience first-hand that this warmongering is a slaughter and not a battle.
